Welcome! You reached Legend of a Hero, the TFL-approved fanlisting for Richard Cypher (Richard Rahl), the protagonist of the tv series "Legend of the Seeker" and Terry Goodkind's novel series "Sword of the Truth". In the tv series, Richard is portrayed by Craig Horner. I followed all the first saga and now I'm waiting for the second, but I have to say that Richard is my favourite character. His story is wonderful: he grows as Richard Cypher, a good hearted boy, when a day, Zeddicus and Kahlan find him and reveal that he is the legendary Seeker of Truth, the one who can defeat the bad Darken Rahl. Over the course of the series, he learns more of his heritage and his gift, facilitating his role as the Seeker of Truth and the master of D'Hara. Throughout the series he also grows and learns a lot of High D'Haran, the language of ancient D'Hara, but also he discovers that he's strictly bounded to Rahl (they're stepbrothers, even if in the books Rahl is Richard's father... why did the authors change this?? ç_ç). I love Richard because he's a rare person (as Kahlan said), always ready to help people in need, he's a skilled warrior, but he doesn't kill if unnecessary. Also, Richard is really in love with Kahlan, and he fights for this love, even if he's aware of the risks (if Kahlan leaves her control she can confess him and he will become her slave forever).
