You reached "I wish you'd answer", the TFL-approved fanlisting for Cole St. Clair and Isabel Rosemary Culpeper, the second pair and narrating voices of Wolves of Mercy Falls saga. Cole St. Clair is the crazy missed lead singer of the rock band NARKOTIKA, a 19 years old genious tired of world and life, who becomes a wolf after meeting Geoffrey Beck. He's the son of a mad and good scientist who used to play scientific games with his children, so Cole developed a really smart and analytical mind, but also a self-destructive attitude. Isabel Culpeper is the younger sister of Jack Culpeper, who died at the end of the first book, Shiver, succumbed to meningitis. Isabel feels guilty because she's responsible of the stealing of the infected blood (she, Sam and Grace suggested that fever could fight the transformation in wolf because of Grace's experience, so they experimented the virus of meningitis in order to prove this on Sam and Jack, but Jack dies). The first time they meet, Isabel finds Cole naked (after his transformation) in her home. There are many gags about this situation through the story (Isabel says that everytime she sees Cole, he's naked and she finds this really annoying XD), but at the beginning she doesn't seem like Cole, finding him too arrogant, selfish, pervert and stubborn (even if attractive). Even so, they begin an on-off relationship, made of furtive kisses, disputes and confessions. Cole is attracted by Isabel, but he refuses to have a physical relationship with her, claiming he wants to come back on a right path, so he tells her about his tormented past, made of drugs, sex, concerts and unhappiness. Isabel is frustrated at the beginning, but the two of them find one each other similar, because Isabel is unhappy too. Cole is also the one who knows that Isabel feels deeply guilty for her brother's death. They also work together in order to find a cure for the lycanthropy, and Isabel helps Cole in making peace with his troubled past life. After Isabel's father begins the hunting to wolves, Isabel tries to help her friends (Sam and Grace turn into wolves and then Cole transforms in order to stop Shelby, another wolf, killing her) by fighting her father, and she's deeply struck when Cole is shot down, believing he's dead. Few days after, she receives a phone call. It's Cole, alive and healed. However, their story is incomplete. The author, Maggie Stievfater didn't want a full happy ending for them. Isabel comes back to California (her homeland) for punishment, and Cole continues to search a cure for the lycanthropy, but the relationship between them seems to be more important. I like these two because their tormented relationship is interesting, charming, sometimes rude and sometimes sweet. I loved all their scenes, and I really hope that a day, books will be adapted in movies. <3 For this layout I choose images that I've found on web. Dianna Agron is the most listed actress to portray Isabel, and Chace Crawford... omg, he could be a really hot Cole. <3 Another note: Cole and Isabel's fans will surely know that the title is the 20th voice message that Cole leaves to Isabel.
